Professor Raelene Frances, FASSA

Dean of Arts and Social Sciences at the Australian National University, Professor Frances’ work as a historian span’s women’s history, the history of work and the impact of war on society. She also served a record ten year term as Dean of Arts at Monash University. There she launched a host of intercultural competency initiatives and secured the educational partnerships that made 'Australian Journey’ possible. The author of prize-winning books (including the prestigious Hancock Prize), Professor Frances is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences She served on the Council of the National Museum of Australia for six years and has received an AM for services to history
